BODY & SKILL EDUCATION & TRAINING

For people who love their sport and care about their body. BODY BEFORE SKILL uses a FUNctional Training approach that is informed by sports science to make training more enjoyable, body‑aware, and skill‑focused. It is a person‑centred approach that builds confidence and skill and helps coaches lead more efficient training sessions.

Body Before Skill has a great range of videos and classes with something for everyone! ???? I particularly enjoy using the stretching and foam rolling videos to help with my flexibility for cheerleading. I always feel relaxed and energised after completing Jess' sessions. I can't forget to mention the BBS book, which is such a lovely informative resource!

BBS is an amazing tool and have greatly enjoyed doing all the exercises especially the hip and leg stretch. What I love about it the most is that there is a very comprehensive guide that comes with it so you can truly understand your body and how each exercise works. Everyone needs this in their life!

BBS is a great balance between videos and readings. All the exercices are well explained and the variety is great ! Foam rolling videos helped me so much, everything felt so stiff, and after only one session, it felt so good again. So thank you so much for all the great tips !

At the MAVERICKS Training Centre in Crans-Montana, we host workshops and courses for sports teams and organisation. You can experience our Body Before Skill™ Training Method and courses tailored to your sport and your team’s needs. The Body Before Skill program focuses on awareness and functional movement to improvement, performance and skills. The program is accredited with NASM, AFAA, CIMSPA and EREPS

OnlinE COURSES

Education for Sports Coaches

Our Continuing Education courses are delivered via eLearning. Our courses typically require 15 hours of online learning (English). The BBS Training Method includes four short courses:

  • BBS_1  BBS FUNctional Training Foundations

  • L&S_1  LONG & STRONG Flexibility Training Foundations

  • BBS_2 Body & Skill Science Immersion Course

  • BBS_3 BBS Training Method Specialisation

FUNCTIONAL TRAINING

Coaches Courses

Our FUNctional Training course empowers coaches to lead with confidence. You’ll learn a FUNctional approach to body conditioning and skill development—where training and learning come together in PLAY! Academy accredited by NASM, AFAA, eREPS & CIMSPA (10 points) for sports & fitness coaches (Continuing Education points pending for NASM, AFAA & eREPS). The course covers:
 

  • Body Before Skill (Theory): The science of body conditioning and skill development.

  • FUNctional Training (Practical): Engaging techniques and exercises to elevate your coaching skills.

Flexibility & MOBILITY

Training & Courses

FLEXIBILITY TRAINING FOR SPORTS & FITNESS - COACH EDUCATION

A highly effective and safe approach to flexibility and mobility training grounded in sports science. The BBS LONG & STRONG (L&S) courses guide you through various techniques for stretching, functional movement, and myofascial release. With an easy-to-follow technique, BBS LONG & STRONG balances flexibility, stability, and strength to guard against injuries and overuse.
