We were pleased to be featured in the Association des Communes de Crans-Montana (ACCM)'s initiative with CNN Business, in a piece exploring why the Swiss Alps have become a hub for founders building at the intersection of work, nature and wellbeing.
Filmed shortly after our move from London to the Swiss Alps, the feature captures the shift in how the academy works, teaches and thinks — from the "MAVERICKS Way Lunch Break" on local trails to the wider ecosystem of local businesses building here at 1,500 metres.
Our educational mission is to bring the life sciences into sports and health education, developing on-site programmes with the local community, in collaboration with the ACCM, that draw together sports, health and nature sciences, and reconnect the dynamics between humans and the natural world.

From London to the Swiss Alps
MAVERICKS Life Co. — the umbrella company for our educational work — was originally founded in 2008 in Richmond, UK, delivering continuing education for sports and health professionals internationally. Our Swiss entity was established in 2016, and our Training Centre in Crans-Montana opened in 2021.
Through a continued commitment to sports, fitness and wellbeing education, our companies underwent a 12-month merger and rebuild in 2022, led by the creative and strategic vision of our founder, Jessica R. Christensen. The transformation moved through four stages:

Mission, vision and compliance
Identity and positioning
Training and operational implementation
The new mission, vision and visual identity consolidate our 15-year journey as an education organisation working at the intersection of life sciences, sports, health and nature.
Our work spans five areas:
MAVERICKS Academy — continuing education for health and physical activity professionals, accredited by QualiCert, NASM, EREPS, AFAA and CIMSPA.
MAVERICKS Training Centre — local community classes and a development centre based in Crans-Montana.
MAVERICKS Events — educational and active-health events from our Swiss Training Centre and across the UK, and hosted international workshops.
MAVERICKS Digital — media development for health and nature education, consulting projects for life sciences education.
Books by Jessica R. Christensen — books by our founder, in collaboration with publishing partners.
